Shah Rukh Khan, also known as the Badshah of Bollywood is perhaps the most popular romantic hero of Bollywood. He has been paired with almost all leading ladies of B’town since 1990s and among those quite a few started their Bollywood journey aside him. A few of them went on to become established heroines of the industry while a few got struck somewhere. Let us check who they are.

Shilpa Shetty: Of course the first name coming to everyone’s mind is Shilpa Shetty. Baazigar in 1993 is the milestone movie of Khan’s career which placed him in the league of big actors of Bollywood. Former model Shilpa Shetty made her acting debut through Baazigar, where she played his love interest. Despite being one of the most graceful beauties of Bollywood, Shilpa has never been able to reach the first league of Bollywood actresses though she enjoys the success of many movies like Life in a Metro, Mein khiladi tu anari, Dhadkan etc.

Deepika Padukone: Reigning queen of Bollywood, no doubt she is the most successful actresses of Bollywood who debut opposite Shah Rukh Khan. Om Shanti Om was a huge success and Chennai Express replicated the success of their previous movie, establishing her as the biggest female star of the industry. ‘Happy new year’ is their third project together.

Mahima Chaudhry: She is among those unlucky stars of Bollywood who made a promising debut with the biggest star of Bollywood, though couldn’t retain her momentum. Pardes in 1997 marking golden jubilee of Indian independence was her debut movie, where she played the lead heroine opposite SRK. She also received numerous nominations for ‘Pardes’. Daag: The Fire, Lajja, Dil kya kare and Dhadkan – she could add only a few successful names to her list and in most of them she played second fiddle.

Preity Zinta: Though Kundan Shah’s Kya Kehna was the first movie of Preity, her first release is Dil se directed by Maniratnam where she played the role of Shah Rukh Khan’s fiancée. Though her role was short, she gained attention and she is counted one among the most successful actresses of 2000s.

Gayatri Joshi: She has acted in only a single film – Swades. The movie directed by Ashutosh Gowarikar earned critical success though it was a box office failure. Soon after the release of the movie, she got settled with her family life.

Hrishita Bhatt: She played Shah Rukh Khan’s wife in the disaster – Asoka. Kareena Kapoor played the lead role in this movie and Bhatt could get only less number of film opportunities later.

Suchitra Krishnamurthy: Kabhi ha kabhi naa is regarded as a cult comedy movie directed by Kundan Shah and she played the female lead opposite SRK. Yet she decided to concentrate on to her musical career than movies.

Anjali Jathar: She played female lead of Shah Rukh Khan in 1995 disaster Trimurthi. Since then she disappeared from the screen.

Anushka Sharma: And last but not the least - Anushka Sharma. Similar to Deepika, Anushka was one among the youngest heroines of SRK. Her debut movie, Rab ne bana de Jodi was a roaring success at box office. The pair came together once again in Jab tak hai jaan and proved successful as well.
