We all live in houses but why? We all know the answer as it protects us from heat,cold,wind and also from animals and robbers. Therefore, in one word it gives us safety.

Different types of houses- Flat and bungalow- Mostly seen in cities. Bungalow consists single roof with many rooms and flat is with so many houses and with many families. There are some advantages and disadvantages of this type of flat. There should be a lift system in this type of multistoried building otherwise the people may suffer to climb up to their apartment. Benefit is that too many people can live under one premises.

Hut- It is seen in villages, though number is decreasing day to day. It is called kachcha house, which is made of mud, bamboo and leaves. Now in villages pucca houses are also seen which is made of stone. Chips, cement and iron. Mainly the poor people make hut as they have no sufficient money to make pucca houses.

Above houses are fixed or permanent but there are some houses which is temporary. Some movable persons make this for that time, for which period they are staying there. Here are some examples-

Caravan.- This is called house on wheels. All facilities are in the van and mostly one family resides here. They move here and there due to their own purpose.

Tent- This is made with canner and rope and this is also made for temporary basis. When they leave that place they open the tent and go for another place. Mostly this is not enough in safety respect but some people live in such way.

House boat- This is made on boat. Kashmir and Kerala are famous for this type of boathouses. They made it for tourists also. Sometimes they live also. In floody area it is very useful.

Igloo- We all know about this. Eskimo live in such type of temporary houses. This is made of hard ice and in cold area this is seen. In heavy snowfall area this is made with dome shape.

So everybody need a house to live and they make it, it can be permanent or temporary.
