Most recently we have witnessed our hi-Tec modern world revolving around superstitious Mayan calendar that was written long before 2300 years and Dooms Day. Let us carry forward this discussion knowing a little about fairy tales related to ‘End of Universe’.   

Every year around 21^st December, ‘Dakshina Ayanam’ happens. This time sun will be in Sagittarius, perpendicular to the central point of our galaxy. It’s not a new thing as per science and astronomy. But if someone extends this matter by adding his own spices and imaginations, telling about black holes, gravitational power and its travel towards sun, every one of us will get confused between the truth and myth. It’s a known fact that centre of all galaxies have black holes and if gets opportunity, it swallows nearby stars. But we can’t 100^ assume that ancient Mayans know this matter, when they prepared Mayan calendar.

Sunspots – There is a different explanation for spots in sun. Once in every 11 years, spots increase in number. At that time, sun will be very active. Solar gas and fumes gain more power at this time. At the same time, satellite signals, telecommunication and power supplying networks may get damaged. But it never ends in big destructions. This phenomenon called ‘solar maximum’ will start only in 2013 this time and it will be almost silent, claims experts.

Beetle juice will explode – Another rumour was that Beetle juice will explode as a supernova. Among those which can meet the fate of an explosion, Beetle juice has first position. It’s the biggest star that can be seen with naked eyes. It belongs to Orion group. The star that is 647 light year away from earth may or may not explode on December 21^st. Even if it happens so, it will appear only like a lighted lamp from earth.

Collision with earth – Another story is related to Nibru, that’s known as Planet X. some people say that Nibru will collide with earth resulting in its end. A comet or asteroid can collide with earth – chances do exist. But no sold proof exist about such a collision that may happen on Dec 21^st. also, if such a big heavenly body reaches the milky way and travels towards earth, it’s happen to know about it months before. It is also possible to change their direction. It’s the case of all comets that come in search of earth. The comet Shoemaker Levi that met with such a disastrous end colliding with Jupiter was found by our scientists, month before the event. They calculated the exact moment of collision too! So, chances are nil for such a collision with earth at present time.
