Drink Water To Keep Fit

 

Water plays an important role in our endeavour to keep fit. There are proteins, supplements and foods we should eat. With that, it is essential to drink adequate amount of water.  However, it is often ignored in today's world of cool drinks and other such energy drinks. You may be aware that our body contains about seventy-five per cent of water. Lack of it can cause dehydration in our body.

Lack of water intake can also slow our metabolism and cause muscle contraction, painful muscles and bad headaches. If metabolism is slowed down, it may work against whatever we are trying to do in our effort to keep fit. Lack of fluids in our body may almost practically stop our fat burning.  Above all, when we are short of sufficient water it makes us thirsty which in turn will remind hunger.

As a result when we are actually feeling thirsty, we think we are hungry and thus eat extra food. This way, we are eating food which our body doesn't actually require and we also slow down the process of fat burning or metabolism.  The daily needs of water for a normal person are something like six to eight glasses.  It is more or less equal to two liters of soda.  

Like everyone else, you may not be a normal person. You may be regularly taking your requisite supplements like you should, doing your cardio, lifting weights and also working out hard.  Yet, your body may have the need of little more water to keep it fit and continuing, so to say. When you are taking your daily quota of vegetables and raw fruits, you are in receipt of some water.

Vegetables and raw fruits contain lot of water in them. In fact, it would be quite difficult to drink that many glasses of water in reality. You may be spending most part of your workout time in the recreation hall.  Do not think that when you drink a cup of coffee, you get some water there.  It is an established fact that coffee pulls out more water from our system.
