The union territory is divided into Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi bears the undistinguishable mark on the once proud Mughal Empire.

Since Delhi lies far from any water bodies, the weather is extreme. In summer, it is very hot and in winter it is cooler than most of the country. The best time to visit the national capital and take advantage of tourism in Delhi is in winter.
