Can We Increase Defense Of Our Kid Through Proper Diet?

 

There was an era of joint families with 10 or 25 kids who fight each other for good food and other requirements. Now in atomic age of one or two kids, kids hate food most. In most families mothers have only one complaint to say about kids, “He eats nothings. She never eats her breakfast every morning though I prepare a lot of items taking time”. Yes, in the growing age of kids they need all nutrition to keep all body functioning going on as well as development of their defense mechanism and brain. So, food is most important for kids at growing age to give enough strength to study and develop immunity among diseases. So, as told in title, through good food we can improve defense mechanism of our kid. Through this article let me provide a few simple tips for mothers to take care of their kids’ health in a better way.

 

It’s a common practice everywhere – quitting breakfast before he/she leaves home to school. Never allow him to do that. Breakfast is the food for brain and is most essential for kids to develop immunity as well as concentration in his studies. If he is not willing to eat breakfast, give him a glass of hot milk in the morning. It’s a complete food with calcium and other components to give him better teeth and bones. Paneer, curd, butter milk etc are different derivatives of milk that can be included in his daily diet.

 

Fiber rich food is best to avoid constipation and fruits are the best source of fibers. Leafy vegetables and whole grains also supply fibers in plenty. Ask him to drink enough water during play time to avoid constipation. Vitamin C resists skin diseases and banana and guava supply them a lot. Zinc needed for the proper functioning of body and healing wounds is abundant in sea fish and beans.

 

Coloured vegetables like carrot and fruits like water melon, also egg, milk and meat supply Vitamin A, best for eye health and defense. Avoid snacks, sweets and fried items most to give him good health as well as digestive mechanism. Preservatives, colours and excess salt and sugar in these items and fast food can reduce his immunity giving him diseases.

 

Certain kids show allergy to some food items like milk, pea nut etc. Take care of his food in these cases. Ensure that you are giving him complete food at regular time and that you are including fruits, vegetables and whole grains in his diet. Also allow him to play well instead of giving cartoon games. After all, childhood is for play and fun.

 

So, let me conclude. Through proper food and regular exercise, it’s possible to improve defense mechanism of your kid. It’s your duty to give him the best!
