No doubt, we give great importance to keep our living room and veranda beautiful, as they catch everyone’s eyes first. It’s also the place where we receive our guests and treat them. Living area is the space where all family members gather, and spend time together. So, every one tries to make them ‘simply beautiful’. Just follow my tips to get a few ideas.

You can give decorative items as hangings in front of the main door to add attraction to your veranda. Clay decorative bells and old lamps give an antique and traditional look as well. Nowadays front veranda is given wooden flooring as well as wooden seats and pillars. Though made from cement, wooden colours for paintings and designs drawn on it, that resemble wooden patters give a traditional look to your veranda. Otherwise you can opt for simple contemporary designs which are simple, cheap, cost effective and easy to clean too.

You can use jute or bamboo furniture for your veranda. You can provide a separate shoe stand hidden inside a shelf in your veranda to place your shoes and related items. Small pocket shelves can be used to keep bills and letters; easy to use as future reference too. It it’s carefully designed using beads and sequences, it’s attractive too. Bamboos swings or grandfather’s old chair are best options for an open veranda, if it gets proper air ventilation.

Instead of filling a lot of items in your showcases, it’s better to use a few expensive curios. It gives less dust and cleaning is also easy. Now showcases are out of fashion in living rooms. Instead of old fashion TVs, you can use LED flat monitors fixed on the wall to save a lot of space as well as give a lively look to your interior. You can arrange a home theatre as well. Place a few paintings on the walls and give spot lights to get quick attention.

Choose furniture that suits size and colour shades of your living room. Otherwise it will take whole space as well as beauty. Your furniture, decorations and shades of wall and floor – all should have perfectly matching colours. Now instead of placing fish tanks in your hall taking space, you can use new LED types that can be placed on wall. Though a bit expensive, it’s better to place such fish aquariums to save space. Placing thin lamps and furniture with thin legs can make your living room appear spacious. Avoid dark colours for your walls as well.
