Andha Kanya Prakash Gruha

Ayesha is the younger daughter for her parents. Ayesha was a blind from her birth. She had lot of interest to study but as her parents were financially very weeks she could not even show her wish to them. Ayesha used to look very much depressed. A teach at there village observed this in Ayesha and thought of helping her. He told her father about the school called “Andha Kanya Prakash Gruha” which is especially for blind people.

Ayesha who did not know to write a single letter is now studying her 10thstandard. Previously she was to feel tested to talk to new people, but now she wants to become a English teacher in future.

Seeing children who were blind and wanted to learn something Mr Neelkanth Rai, an emperor of Ahamedhabad started this “Andha Kanya Prakash Gruha” in the year 1954. His maid intention was that the children who were blind should have there education and leave with respect in this society. He started this with Rs 10000 and with 4 students and now we can see around 200 blind children in this house. The society has also constructed a very big for maintaining this school.

This school has until 8th standard with the language of Braille lipi, further education shall be continued in other school but the students can also use the house for accommodation for there further studies. The students will also get trained in such a way that they can settle with the self employment like arts, tailoring, embroidery, wool works, etc. at the time of Diwali festival all the students prepare mud lamps and sell them and the lamps prepared by them have great demand in that area. They also prepare Chikki’s  (A type of sweet) and sell them in markets. Recently they have earned Rs 6 lakhs in two months with the sale of “Chikki”.

“Andha Kanya Prakash Gruha” not only encourages with the students by giving education and training on different arts but also we can find that some of the students of this institute have got married and have started there new life.
