Sabarmati Ashram is one of the enticing places in Ahmedabad and was once the home of Mahatma Gandhi. He established this in 1915 on the banks of the River Sabarmati and in 1930, he launched the Dandi March from here. The teachings of Mahatma Gandhi and the statues of three wise monkeys are displayed here. The handmade paper factory and spinning wheel factory are situated within its premises.

 

Ahmedabad is well known for its textile industry and the visitors might want to shop some garments. Thron Darwaja, Ratan Pole, Dhalgarwad and Manek Chowk are some of the places where you can find cloth markets and the clothes are usually bargained. However there are also some fixed price shops where the traditional goods are sold.

 

Gujaratis love sweets and dairy products. So there are many ice cream shops and sweet shops found in all the places.
