A Small Note On Vitamins

 

It has been 100 years since Vitamins have been discovered. In this occasion, let me give a small note on Vitamins. Why are vitamins needed for our body? Can they help us to resist diseases and helps in proper body functioning activities and metabolism? Surely, yes! Vitamins not only nourish your skin, but also help you to get good vision, beauty as well as defense power. So, let me give you a brief summary of this magical nutrition.

 

Carbohydrates, fats, proteins, fiber, minerals and of course, vitamins – all are needed for proper functioning of human body. Vitamins are most found in leafy vegetables, normal vegetables and fruits, enough to resist us aging and many modern life diseases.  Vitamin A, B, C, D, E and K, including all components of Vitamin B – Vitamins are classified into different groups according to their chemical composition. B and C type vitamins are soluble in water while the remaining ones, insoluble. They are soluble in fat.

 

Now let me tell you how vitamins improve our body functioning. Vitamin B3, also known as niacin helps in the proper functioning of digestive enzymes while Vitamin A, gives us good vision. Vitamin E, also known as beauty vitamin is good for skin health while vitamin C helps in healing process. We need not take extra food to get Vitamin D, as we get it directly from sun. This vitamin is most essential for controlling calcium levels in our body. Vitamin B converts stored fat to energy and helps a lot in body metabolic activities.

 

What are those diseases that can occur with the deficiency of vitamins? Deficiency of vitamin C leads to scurvy which creates problems with plaque and reduces body immunity power. It may give you sleeplessness and depressions as blessings! If not get enough exposure to sunlight or given enough vitamin D supplements through food, rickets in children and osteomalacia in adults are its end results. Deficiency of vitamin B2 gives mouth ulcers, cracked lips and similar problems related to mouth.

 

Before I conclude, let me list a few food items that contain vitamins in plenty. Leafy vegetables, normal vegetables, fish, egg, meat, fruits, lemon etc are best supplements of vitamins. Keep a well-balanced diet to keep yourself healthy and fit.
