In this modern world we still see many children who do not study and we also see many students who study in government schools. This means many families are under below poverty line and are still backward. In Gujarat State, there is a school called “Sarojini Naidu Girls Government School” at Rajkot. This school used to be always full with numerous students. But from past 2 to 3 years it was found that the strength of female students have come down very low.  Usually the strength of students would be in 1000’s but now it has come down to 100’s, there are only 400 female students in this school.

When the principal of this school Sonal tried to find out the reason behind the decrease in the strength of students, she came to know that thought the school were changing no fees from the students, the parents were unable to bear the expenditure of purchasing stationery, uniform, etc to the children. So the principal encouraged the female students by assuring to supply free books, stationery, uniforms and also sanitary pads. And as said she is supplying the same to the students in free. Not only this, Principal Sonal has also been conducting computer classes to the children. She has been receiving funds from the government for this and without misusing the funds received she is utilizing them in a proper way.

She also requested the government to waive off the exam fees for the students who study in this school. Thought the government did not take any action for her request for one year, later the government has to accept her request. Now the government has not only waived off the fees of the students but also is providing free books and uniforms. The reason behind the decision taken by government is the principle Sonal. Because under the supervision of this principal many students have been securing highest percentages in SSLC Board Examinations. One the student has also secured the free seat to study in Europe.

With the kind step of Sonal many students are going to get the bright future.
