A Journey Through Emraan Hashmi's Career

 

Emraan Hashmi can be said to be a modern boy who is not at all hesitated for doing intimate scenes with heroines for the movie. This approach earned him the title ‘Bad boy’ and ‘Serial kisser’ of Bollywood. Yet, he is one among the most wanted celebrities of Bollywood with a huge crowd following. He is famous and notorious both for his romantic and thriller scenes.

 

Born as the nephew of Mahesh Bhatt, it was not at all a big task to join film industry. He started his film career as an assistant director for his cousin Vikram Bhatt’s blockbuster Raaz of 2002. Next year he debut with Mahesh Bhatt’s Footpath. Though the movie got positive reviews, it was not a big hit at Bollywood. But with the release of Murder in the same year co-starring Mallika Sherawat, he became a well-known face all over India. Its bold scenes made the movie the most successful Bollywood film of the year; yet both the actors began to be known for their bold scenes. This romantic crime thriller maintained suspense till the end – another factor resulting in its huge success.

 

His next movie Tumsa Nahin Dekha opposite Diya Mirza was a failure at box office. Yet it was remembered for its good songs. Then a string of hit and flop movies followed it. But all movies were extra ordinary in music. Yet, he was known for intimating scenes in the movie. Next two movies, Zeher and Kalyug were critically good and did good business too. But the couple of movies that followed Kalyug, Aashiq Banaya Aapne and Chocolate failed at box office; both received negative reviews as well. Miss India Tanushree Dutta was the heroine of both these movies. Music of Aashiq Banaya Aapne was fabulous and it brought out, the singing capability of its music director Himesh Reshammiya.

 

In the midst of a few flops, The train, Good boy bad boy, The killer, Dil diya hai and Aksar, a few good films also released. They include Awarapan, Gangster and Jannat that were critically well acclaimed; received success at box office too. Through these three movies, we saw him growing as a matured actor showing distinct mannerisms.

 

When Tum Mile failed at box office, though its music was noticed, the sequel of Raaz was declared hit at box office. Very soon, we saw the release of Once upon a time in Mumbai – a milestone movie in Emraan’s career. Following the flop story Dil to Bacha hai ji, Dirty picture, Murder 2 and Jannat 2 were released. His role as a photographer in Shangai was well appreciated; he was nominated for Filmfare awards too. Though he was nominated several times for best actor, villain and supporting actor he has never won an award in his long career of 11 years. Let us wish him the best and successes in his life journey. It’s for its romantic scenes, restless movements and melodious music Emraan Hashmi is remembered most.
