An idea may be small, but if it is helpful to the society, it will gain name and fame and gain prizes also. The authority of Kasthuriba trust in Hyderabad Mrs Padmavathi is the example for this. Her idea was to how to provide sanitary napkins with a very low cost, by which we can save many delivered ladies with infections. For this best idea she has won first prize in “Spark the Rise” competition.
Though we have the facility of sanitary napkins, most of the ladies will not use them due to many reasons, it may be because of financial problems or no idea about these facility. Because of this many females are facing the problems of infections in their future life. When she made a survey about the usage of napkins, she found that most of them in the village are not using them. So she thought of doing something for this. She thought of supplying them through the trust.
Disappointment:
The trust purchased a machine for manufacturing napkins. NBI helped them by donating 2.75 lakhs. The production was very less and the maintenance was also very high, so they failed to provide the facility to the female. They were manufacturing only 600 napkins a day. Then they took the suggestion of Mr Pisanati Narayana who is working in Esro. And at last they decided to manufacture a new machine. By the help of Mr Pisanati Narayana and the son of Mrs Padmavathi they manufactured a machine which produced 1300 napkins a day.
At that time they came to know in online about “Spark the Rise” which invited people about their ideas. She explained them that they are manufacturing Napkins cost of Rs 0.75 paisa per napkin and totally 9 napkins for just Rs 12. They came to know that 30% of votes over will be considered. Totally 120 members participated in this competition. But as Mrs Padmavathi got the huge number of votes, she won the first prize. She explained detail about the cervical cancer in final round of the competition, which impressed the judges. And very shortly she is going to earn 20 lakhs for starting the project of providing napkins to each and every female.
