Koyambedu Market is located at Koyambedu, Chennai. It is one of the largest markets in Asia for fruits, flowers and vegetables. There are about 2,500 wholesale shops here that are frequented by traders, business people and individuals from all over the State and neighboring areas. These shops get several hundred truckloads of produce everyday. The Koyambedu market houses over 3,000 wholesale shops for fruits and vegetables and is considered one of the largest of its kind in Asia. Over 100,000 shoppers come to the market daily and the facility generates over a 100 tonnes of waste a day.
