Thiruvananthapuram formerly called Trivandrum is a beautiful city that is nestled in the southern edge of Kerala. It is the capital city of Kerala and its commercial and political centre. It is a prime tourist destination where innumerable museums, palaces and temples form the centre of attraction. The Agastyarkoodam is a lofty peak situated on the Western Ghats. It is located at an altitude of 1800 meters and has an amazing cone shape. The peak is an ideal place for trekking. The Sri Chitra Art Gallery is another idyllic place for all art lovers. There is a section in the gallery devoted solely to the paintings of Raja Ravi Varma an eminent Indian painter. The Napier Museum is another place that should not be missed at any cost. It is a 19thcentury monument which houses a collection of rare and unique items. One can get a fair idea of the Indo Saracenic architecture.
