Gandhi Smriti Museum is located on Tees January Road, a few kilometers from the Connaught Place in New Delhi. This was formerly called as Birla Bhavan. It was in this place where Mahatma Gandhi spent his last 144 days of his life. It was here that he was assassinated on 30th January 1948.

The Government of India acquired it in 1971 and from 15th August 1973, it is opened up for the public. It houses the pictures, articles and remnants of the life and death of Mahatma Gandhi. Eternal Gandhi Multimedia Museum was established here in 2005.
