Swaminarayan Akshardham, situated near Noida in East Delhi on the banks of the River Yamuna is a reflection of the ancient architecture of India. It is built of pink sandstone and white marble. It is 141 feet high, 316 feet wide and 370 feet long and has 234 pillars. The domes are 72 feet high and have decorative arches. The whole structure is positioned on the shoulders of 148 huge elephants.

 

There are two huge ponds and three exhibition halls namely Sahajanand Darshan, Neelkanth Darshan and Sanskruti Vihar where the light and sound show is conducted. Boat rides are conducted in Sanskruti Vihar.

 

There is a palace-like monument at the heart of the complex built of more than 12,000 tons of pink sandstone and white marble. It is 129 feet high 275 feet wide and 315 feet long.

 

Entrance fee for adults-Rs. 125
For children and senior citizens-Rs. 75

 

Four hours are needed to visit the entire complex and view all the shows.
