Embraced by the verdant trees, valleys and hills, Mount Abu is the only hill station in the desert state of Rajasthan. Secluded at an altitude of 1120-1220 meters, the highest point of the Aravalli mountain range, Mount Abu enjoys moderate climatic condition, thus providing a suitable respite from the scorching heat of Rajasthan. The place is strewn with numerous bungalows mainly for recreational purpose. It was once the summer seat for the Rajputs and the British and traces of the royal and British days can still be ascertained from the walls of the buildings here. Endowed with a large number of attractive tourist spot Mount Abu stands as an important and“must visit” tourist destinations in Rajasthan.

A number of monuments rule the place. Prominent among them are the Sunset point, Honeymoon Point and the Crags. A visit to the monuments will give you a fair knowledge of not only the historical significance of the place but also of the architectural magnificence. The monuments stand as a manifestation of the past rulers who used to rule the place. Mount Abu also has a number of Forts and Palaces which demonstrate the brilliance of the masterminds who built them. There is the Kesar Bhawan Palace, Achalgarh Fort and the Sunrise Palace; each of which provides an in-depth understanding of the Rajasthan culture as was prevalent in the earlier period. 

Gardens also stand at the top of the list of tourist attractions in Mount Abu. Gandhi Park, Ashok Vatika and Terrace Garden all contributes to the beauty of Mount Abu in their own special way. On your tour to Mount Abu make sure a visit to the garden is not missed. Mount Abu boasts of a number of important temples. The spiritual flavour sparks from the walls of the temples igniting a sense of holiness and spirituality in the minds of the travellers. Some important temples are the Jain temple, Dilwara temple, Shri Raghunathji temple, Vimala Vashi temple, Adhar devi temple, Luna Vashi temple and the Gaumukh Temple.

A number of museums have also been established at Mount Abu. It forms an integral part of the city showcasing the past of Rajasthan in all its profundity. The museums inform the visitors of the culture and tradition taking us on a glorious ride to a glorious past. There is the Mount Abu and Brahma Kumaris Spritual University and Museum and the Archaelogical Museum in its vicinity and they are an important tourist attraction. The Bazaar at Mount Abu is also an exciting and endearing place to visit and while away time. A number of exquisite items are available and you will surely not come back empty handed from the place.
