The city of Madurai is in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It has a rich heritage of its own with a ancient lineage of historical past. This is also commonly referred to as the Temple City. You can also see a beautiful temple at Navagraham that is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This is also believed to be older than the Meenakshi Temple. Despite the traditions of its ancient past there are several churches and mosques here that co-exist as a perfect symbol of religious harmony.
