Guindy National Park is located in the Guindy area which is not too far from the city center. It is a vast expanse of land with a lot of animal and plant population. The Guindy National Park has an amazing variety of wildlife to its credit. Some of the major attractions include Elephant, Spotted Deer, Antelope, Toddy Cat, Jungle Cat etc. A delightful variety of Antelope finds place here including the rare Indian Antelope-The Black Buck. The Park also has an amazing variety of birds. There are about thirty seven varieties of them, including Blue Faced Malkoha, Koels, Shrikes, Doves, Munias, Minivets, Barkets, King Fisher, Golden Backed Woodpecker, Blue Jay, Yellow Wattled Lapwing, Crow Pheasant, Red Drongos, Robins, Quails, Flycatcher, Beak Paradise, Stone Curlew, Wattled Lapwing, Gray Partridge, Parakeets, and Tailor Birds.

The Guindy National Park is also of botanical importance as it has a collection of some rare varieties of plants and trees which includes Amona Squamosa, Feronia Azadirachta India, Limonia, Atlanta Monoplylla etc. The trees and plants provide a lot of greenery and shade to the visitors and a trip down this park is extremely refreshing and interesting.
