Yogeeta Bali Biography

Yogeeta Bali was a former actress of Indian screen who worked mostly for Hindi cinema. She is the wife of actor Mithun Chakraborthy. Formerly, she was married to actor-singer Kishore Kumar. She is the niece of Bollywood actress Geeta Bali, Shammi Kapoor's first wife. She has been active in Bollywood since early 70s, till middle 80’s.

Her popular roles include - Mera Karam Mera Dharam, laila, Grahasthi, Baawri, karate, Haadsa, Biwi-O-Biwi, Parde Ke Peechey, Karmayogi, Dhoop Chhaon, Buniyaad, Samjotha, Mere apne, Unees bees, Pyaara Dushman, Naukar, Ek Mutthi Aasmaan, Azzan mohabbat, Apradhi, Ajnabee, Banarasi babu, Pyara dushman, Chacha Bhatija, Premi Gangaram, Salaam Memsaab, Sawa Lakh Se Ek Ladaun, Nagin, Khan dost, Ek Baap Chhe Bete, Jheel Ke Us Paar, Chawkidaar, Kisan Aur Bhagwan, Charitraheen, Sauda, Waqt Ki Pukar, Parwana, Meim saab, Sazaa, Zameen Aasmaan, Kunwara Baap, Zindagi aur toofan, Nirdosh, Aakri kasam, Jaani Dushman, Mehbooba and Zamaane Ko Dikhana Hai.

Yogeeta bali was born in Mumbai on August 13, 1952. She started her film career in 1971 opposite Amitabh Bachchan with the movie Parvaana. She played the role of Asha Varma/Nirmala in the film. She has a long list of movies opposite Rajesh Khanna too. Mehbooba, Janta Hawaldar, Jaanwar and Ajnabi can be included in the list which she acted with the first superstar of Indian cinema, though not as leading actress. Her other top movies are Nagin, Biwi O Biwi, Jani Dushman, Khwab, Grihasti, Laila, and Jheel Ke Us Paar. In majority of her movies, she was casted in the supporting roles. She entered an era of Hindi cinema when Bollywood divas like Hema Malini, Sharmila Tagore, Zeenat Aman and Parveen babi were ruling the world.

She married Kishore Kumar in the year 1976. It was just co-incidental that she met Mithun Chakravarthy in a film set and both fall in love. It happened in 1979 and both married very soon. They are still living together with 4 children – Mimoh, Rimoh, Namashi and Dishani. Mimoh has already entered big screen. Yogeeta produced the movie Enemmy for her son. Though there were rumours about relationship between Mithun Chakraborthy and actress Sri Devi, it didn’t take off and the married relation between Yogeeta and Mithun was saved.
