Yash Biography

Yash is a popular young actor of Kannada cinema. He is known as the "Rocking star" of Kannada film industry and his dancing styles and action scenes are very popular. He acted in several television serials before entering movies. Now he is one of the top stars of Kannada movies and his commercial hits include - Modalasala (2010), Rajadhani (2011), Kirataka (2011), Lucky (2012), Jaanu (2012), Drama (2012), Googly (2013) and Raja Huli (2013). With a successful track record of hits, he is one of the bankable stars of Kannada Film Industry at present. He is very popular among youngsters and a huge female crowd following him.

His real name is Naveen Kumar Gowda and he was born in Mysore on 8th January, 1986. He did his schooling from Mahajana High School, Mysore. His acting career started with the Teleserial Nanda Gokula directed by Ashok Kashyap, which was aired on ETV Kannada. It was followed by successful television serials, Malebillu and Preeti Illada Mele. He entered film industry doing a bit role in Jambhada Hudugi in 2007. But this role was not noticed. The following year, he was casted in second lead opposite Radhika Pandit in the movie, Moggina Manasu. This role gave him Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. As lead he appeared in Rocky (2008), Kallara Santhe (2009) and Gokula (2009). But all these movies were failures.

 

In 2010, Yash starred as a lover boy in Modalasala which became his first commercial solo hit. Rajadhani in 2011 was also a moderate success. This movie helped him to gain a few fans. In 2012, Kirataka was released and it turned out to be a commercial super hit. Thus he became one among the top young stars of the industry. His movie, Googly opposite Kriti Kharbanda is one of the biggest commercial hits of the year.
