Yana Gupta Biography

Yana Gupta is a Czech model and famous item girl of Indian movies who shot to fame through the chartbuster song, ‘Babujee Zara Deere Chalo’ of 2003 movie Dum, pictured on her. She also appeared in the chartbuster ‘Remo’ song of Tamil hit – Anniyan. As an item girl, she has appeared in the song sequences of Bollywood movies like Kaisay Kahein, Rakht and Chalo Dilli. Her recent appearance was for the hit song, "Aa Zara" of Murder 2 in which she appeared in the role of dancer Jyoti. Jogi, Shankardada Zindabad, Manmadhan and Gharshana are the south Indian movies in which she appeared as a dancer. Apart from an excellent dancer, she is also a model. She has appeared as a contestant in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 1. Yana Gupta is also known as a writer at present.

 

She was born in Brno, Czech Republic in the year 1979. She started her modelling career at the age of 19. After graduation in Park Architecture and Gardening, she moved to Japan where she worked some time as a model. Then she reached India got attracted to Indian spirituality and spent her early years at Osho’s Meditation centre in Pune. During this time she got married to an Indian, Satyakam Gupta in 2001 and changed her surname to Gupta. However the marriage didn’t last too long and the couple divorced in 2005.

 

She entered Bollywood in the year after her marriage in 2003, through an item song for the movie, Dum. ‘Babuji’ was a chartbuster song and she shot to fame in a short period. Very soon she got offers from Kollywood and Tollywood as well and songs pictured on her became immensely popular. In 2009, she turned a writer. Her health related book, "How To Love Your Body And Get The Body You Love” was published the same year.
