Vrishasen Dabholkar Biography

Vrishasen Dabholkar is an Indian actor who works in Bollywood and television series. He is also a stage actor. He has been active in the entertainment industry since early 2000’s. He is also known by the names - Savaji (Tukaram) and Sameer (Valu). He is the winner of Suryadatta National Award for Young Achiever 2012 and UNFPA-Laadli National Creative Excellence Award for Social Change twice. He has also received Shahu Modak Puraskar 2004 for his contribution towards theatre and films.

 

Vrishasen Dabholkar was born and brought up in Pune. He started his acting career at the age of 5 in a Marathi play, in which he played the role of young Sivaji. While at college, he won the Purshottam award for his acting. He studied Political science at Fergusson College, Pune and Mass Communication at University of Pune. He won Shahu Modak Puraskar for his contribution towards theatre and films. He also received the Best Actor award in National level French play competition organized by the Embassy of France. He made a documentary film on female foeticide while at college. He has acted in Amol Palekar’s theatre production named Julus and has also done a cameo appearance in Bollywood movie, Dhol.

 

As a film actor, he has done supporting roles in Marathi films like Dahavi Pha, valu, Tukaram, Aaich Gondhal, Manya Sajjana and Nati Goti. He has also been a part of several Marathi and Hindi television shows like – Hi Vaat Dur Jate, Mohini, Mala Sasy Havi, Kunku, Hya Gojirwanya Gharat, PahunChar, MissionDosti.com, Gaganala Pankh Nave, Ya Walnavar and Tuzvin Sakhya Re. Jallosh Suvarnayugacha, Gana Dhav Re and Wow are his non-fiction shows.
