Vinay Pathak Biography

Vinay Pathak is a Bollywood actor who is famous for his comic roles. As leading hero and supporting roles, he has given a few hit movies to Bollywood of which his role as Shah Rukh Khan’s friend in Rab ne bana di Jodi and comic roles in Khosle ka ghosla, Chalo Dilli, Johny Gaddar and Bheja fry are remarkable performances. He is famous for entertaining crowd by his perfect timing in comedy. He has done commendable performance in less commercial movies of Bollywood.  

Vinay Pathak was born in Bihar and did his schooling in Vikas Vidhyalaya, Ranchi. He graduated from Allahabad University and for further studies he went abroad. While he was studying in State University of New York at Stony Brook, he attended stage shows. Once returned, he did bit roles in movies during late 90’s. Some of his movies during late 90’s include Hum dil de chuke sanam, Fire and Bombay Boys. He continued doing bit roles during 2000’s and a few such movies include – Har dil jo pyar karega, Inspector’s role in Jism and Murder unveiled. But it was his supporting role in comic flick, Khosle ka ghosle that turned his life positive. Though he did supporting role, success of this movie type-casted him as a comic actor of Bollywood, giving him more opportunities to find.

He did the leading role of an irritating foolish singer in the movie ‘Bhega Fry’ and placed him among the comic actors of present times. Critics praised his performance and most recently its sequel was also released. But it couldn’t repeat the success of its first part. His serious looks, dialogue delivery and body language also attribute a lot to the timely comedy in many scenes. He is very often casted as an innocent man. We can see such comedies in movies like Chalo Dilli, where he did the role of an innocent person who helps Lara Dutta to reach Delhi.

His other movies include Antharwand, Pappu can’t dance sala, Khoya khoya chand, Aaja Nachle, Manorama 6 feet under, Fatso, Raat gayi baat gayi, My name is Khan, Utt patang,  Dusvidaniyan, Emotional athyachar, Mithya, Straight, Quick gun Murugan and Om my God.
