Vidyasagar Biography 
Vidyasagar is an Indian music director and composer who worked in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Hindi film industry. He is very popular in South India and known for his soulful melodies. He has worked with many popular heroes and leading producers. Though his mother tongue is Telugu, he has won hits in Tamil and Malayalam films. He has received National Award for his achievements.
He was born on 3rd March 1963 in a Telugu Brahmin family in Vizianagaram in Andhra Pradesh in India. He was brought up in Chennai. His father U. Ramachander was a musician and his grandfather Varaha Narasimha Murthy was the court Vidhwan in Vijayanagaram. He started to take vocal classes and harmonium from his father when he was just four. At his age of eight, he joined Dhanraj Master. He learnt guitar and piano and studied western classical music at the Trinity College of Music in London.
He became a music director in the Tamil movie Poomanan in 1989 for the song En Anbe. In 1990s he became the best music director of Telugu. He worked with Arjun in 1994-95 for the movies like Jai Hind, Karna, Subash, Ayutha Pooja, and Sengottai. He concentrated in Malayalam films from 1996 to 2001. His first film there was Azhagiya Ravanani. Some of his hit films are Azhagiya Ravanana, Indraprastham, Varnapakittu, Meesa Madhavan, CID Moosa, Gramaphone, and Kilichundan Mambazham.
He came back to Tamil film industry by the films, Dhill and Poovellam Un Vaasam. The song Appadi Podu Podu in the film Ghilli was an instant hit. He received National Award for the Telugu film, Swarabhishekam. His music for RajiniKanth in Chandramukhi was highly successful in the year 2005. His other hits are Kuruvi, Abhiyum Naanum and Ilaignan, etc.
He received National Award for Best Music Director in 2005, Kerala State Best Music Director Awards in 1996, 1998 and 2000, Tamil Nadu State Film Awards in 2007 and 2001, Andhra Pradesh State Film Awards in 2004 and many more awards.
