Vedala Hemachandra Biography

Vedala Hemachandra is a south Indian playback singer who predominantly sings for Telugu movies. He was one of the finalists of 2005 Sa Re Ga Ma Pa singing competition, where he finished as the second runner-up. He belonged to Jai Ho gharana of singer Aadesh Srivastava in the popular reality show aired on ZEE TV. Following the show, he got opportunity to sing Chalo dildaar chalo from Himesh Reshamiya’s Dil Diya Hai along with fellow contestants, Vineet Singh and Himani Kapoor – the other two finalists of the same show. He also sang the song - Sabse alag from the film Alag along with his fellow contestant of the same show - Nihira Joshi. Now Hemachandra is a busy singer of south Indian films.

 

He hails from Hyderabad. He was born in the year 1988. He was initiated to the world of Carnatic music by his mother who taught him early lessons. Later he trained Hindustani music at Government Music College, in Hyderabad. He took Bachelor’s degree in Animation and Multimedia. His cousin N. C. Karunya is also a playback singer and popular reality show contestant who finished second at the popular singing talent hunt show on Sony Television – Indian Idol Season 2. Hemachandra is married to noted Telugu playback singer - Sravana Bhargavi.

 

Apart from Hindi and Telugu songs, he has released two private albums in Assamese language - Sravana Bhargavi. Since his rise as a singer in 2005, he has been hosting many reality shows and is active with live performances. He anchors Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Lil Champs in Zee Telugu since 2007. Apart from a singer, he has also composed music for a few Telugu movies. He participated in Music Ka Maha Muqqabla with Mohit's Fighters.
