Vartika Nanda Biography 
Vartika Nanda is a leading journalist of India at present and known as an efficient teacher in this field. Currently she works is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Journalism in Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Delhi University. Earlier she taught TV journalism for three years at the Indian Institute of Mass Communication as an Associate Professor. She holds a PhD in journalism and has done various assignments for leading television channels for the country like Zee News, NDTV, Lok Sabha TV and Sahara India Media. She has been a regular columnist of The Pioneer and Hindi Outlook till 2007. She is also a member of the expert committee on Prasar Bharti constituted in 2013. She is also a noted author and has published a few books.
Nanda belongs to Punjab and her initial education was done there. She authored a compilation of poems titled, 'Madhur Dastak' (1989) during her school days. She has won several literal awards and prizes throughout her academic career. First Prize in Story Competition conducted by The Dainik Tribune and Himachal Pradesh Government and a special prize in story competition held by The Language Department of Punjabi University, Patiala in 1991-92 are the major honours received by her.
She joined Zee TV in the year 1994 and worked for about one and a half year before she joined NDTV. She has a long term association of 8 years with NDTV. She was the Chief of Crime Bureau when she quit NDTV. She became a household name through Prannoy Roy’s crime reporter. Then she joined as faculty at Indian Institute of Mass Communication where she worked for three years before joing Lok Sabha TV in 2006. In March 2008, she joined as the Programming Head of all the news channels of Sahara India Media.
