Vaishali Desai Biography

Vaishali Desai is a successful Indian model and Bollywood actress who has debuted in lead role in Bollywood movie, Kal kisne dekha (2009) aside Jackky Bhagnani. She received Sabsey Favourite Nayi Heroine nomination at Lux Sabsey Favourite Kaun award functions for her debut movie. She is the grandniece of Manmohan Desai, popular Bollywood director. She has appeared in many television commercials like Tanishq, Compaq laptop and Raymond ad and has won the Indian title of Miss International. Tukkaa fit – is her yet to release Bollywood movie. In 2010, she received ‘KALA SHIKHAR AWARD’ at All India Achievers Conference for her accomplishments in the field of Performing Arts (Cinema). In 2011, she won Gauravvanti Gujarati Award for performing arts. She also won ARCH OF EXCELLENCE AWARD at All India Achievers Conference in the year 2009.

She was born on December 18 1989 to Vidyut Desai and Priti Desai. Manmohan Desai, the commercial director known for generating Bollywood blockbusters in 1970’s and 1980’s with Big B as lead star, is her grand uncle. Of her two sisters, Jaituni Desai and Hariyali Desai, Jaituni has been a successful model and has participated in Miss India contest. She was brought up in Bangalore where she studied at Sophia High School. Later she graduated in Psychology in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She took modelling as her career at the age of 14 and appeared in many popular television ads. Her first commercial for Ponds Dreamflower Talc was a big break.

Vaishali had participated in the Elite Look of the Year contest and was the second runner-up. She was selected as Miss International at Miss India Contest. She was the third runner-up the show and represented India in Miss International contest in Tokyo.
