V. K. Sreeraman Biography

V. K. Sreeraman is a noted Malayalam film actor known for character roles and negative shaded characters. He has been active in the film industry since 1980’s. He is also known as a social worker, writer and TV anchor. His acting debut happened with G Aravindan’s internationally acclaimed film Thambu (1978). "Natarangu" a discussion program in Asianet marked his mini screen debut. "Natukootam" and 'Sreeramante Veritta Kazhchakal' in Karali Channel are other noted television appearances. As a film actor, his villain role in Kamal’s Kaakkothikavile appooppan thaadikal is one of the memorable roles in 1980’s. Though he was mostly known for negative roles during 1980’s, as time passed by, he moved to character roles.

 

He has appeared in many Mohanlal movies in supporting roles – Spirit, Madamby, Ravanaprabhu, Madambi, Sagar Alias Jacky, Onnaman, Ali bhai, Udayon, Chandrolsavam, Narashimham, Paradesi, Devasuram, Maampazhakkaalam, Vamanapuram Bus Route, Spadikam, Kilichundan Mampazham and Sradha are among those. He has also appeared in Mammootty’s movies like Hitler, Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Venicile Vyapari, Pallavur Devanarayanan, Pondan mada, Vishnu, 1993 Bombay March 12, Big B, Dhrona, Bavuttiyude Namathil, Ezhupunna Tharakan and Pranchiyettan and the Saint. He has also acted in Harikrishnans and No: 20 Madras Mail, in which both these megastars worked together. Classmates, Da Thadiya, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, Simhasanam and Lisammayude Veedu are other memorable movies.  

 

He was born in Cheruvathani village of Kunnakulam Taluk, Thrissur. His father V C Krishnan worked in Srilanka as a Hotel Manager. His mother Bhargavi Krishnan was a teacher. His schooling was done at various schools of Thrissur including Vaduthala U P School, St. George High School Thozhiyoor, Government Higher Secondary School Kunnamkulam and Thrissur Fine Arts School. 1978 movie Thampu marked his screen debut.
