V. B. Rajendra Prasad Biography 
V. B. Rajendra Prasad is an Indian film maker who predominantly worked in Telugu cinema. He has produced and directed a few Tamil and Hindi movies also. His 1965 film Antastulu won National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Telugu and Filmfare Best film. The following year his movie – Aastiparulu earned Filmfare best movie in Telugu. He was honoured with Raghupathi Venkaiah Award in 2003 for his outstanding contributions to Indian cinema. He is also a recipient of K. V. Reddy memorial Award in 2000. He passed away on 12 January 2015 in Hyderabad, Telangana aged 82. Noted Telugu actor Jagapathi babu is his son. He owned film production company Jagapati Art Pictures.
His full name is Veeramachaneni Babu Rajendra Prasad. He was born on November 4th, 1932 in Gudivada, Andhra Pradesh. His childhood days were not so great. His meeting with Akkineni Nageswara Rao was the turning point of his life. He reached film industry, where he started off as an actor. He struggled in Chennai to make a mark in the industry long back in 1958. So he moved to Andhra Pradesh, where he received success in the field. His first directed movie 'Dasara Bullodu' ran in packed houses for 365 days. He produced 34 films in total and witnessed only 4 flops throughout his career. He left a mark as a director and screenwriter as well.
For the past few years he has made Film Nagar Temple his home where he had a small modest office room. His biggest dissatisfaction is that he couldn’t make a good movie for his son. He passed away on 12 January 2015 following a serious respiratory ailment. He was suffering from old age ailments during his last days. He was also known as a philanthropist.
