Ulka Gupta Biography

Ulka Gupta is a young child actress on Indian television, best known for playing the childhood role of Rani Lakshmi Bai in the Zee TV serial - Jhansi Ki Rani. Later she re-entered the same show as Kali. For the year 2010, she won several awards for her outstanding performance as a child artist. She was 13 when she portrayed young Rani onscreen. She accumulated awards including Indian Telly Awards, Star Parivaar Awards, ITA Awards, Zee Gold Awards, FICCI Award, Women Achiever’s award apart from Face Of The year 2010 - (Gr8) and Star Mahila Awards.

Later she played the role of Devi Kanya Kumari in the popular mythological series - Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev. She also appeared in Fear Files, Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi, Veer Shivaji, Saat Phere and has made her Telugu language film debut through - Andhra Pori. She was later seen in Telugu expensive periodic film – Rudramadevi.

Ulka Gupta was born on 12 April 1997 at Saharsa of Patna district, Bihar. She was born into a family of actors. Her father and sisters are actors. Resham Dankh, was her debut work, followed by Saat Phere. But she shot to fame after playing the role of Manu in Jhansi Ki Rani, which made her a household name among Hindi serial viewers. She took a lot of effort and learnt horse riding and sword fighting for this series. She also learnt Sanskrit to deliver shlokas and dialogues. She was replaced with year leap and she returned to same serial portraying another role. She took a small break from small screen to return back in Zee Tv’s Kacche Dhaage, where she plays the 15 year old lead actress.
