Uddhav Thackeray Biography 
Uddhav Thackeray is the president of Shiv Sena which is the regional political party of Maharashtra, India. He took over this position in 2004 from his father who is the founder of this party, Balasaheb Thackaray. He is a Hindu nationalist politician. Before involving in active politics, Uddhav Thackeray was looking after the daily Marathi news paper, Saamana. Later he involved in the election campaigning activities and the Shiv Sena party won in the Brihan Mumbai Municipal Corporation election in 2002. This led to his appointment as the working president of the party in 2003.
He was born on 27th July 1960 in Mumbai. He followed the traits of his father Balasaheb Thackeray in politics. He married Rashmi Thackeray and has two children, Aditya Thackeray and Tejas Thackeray. His son Aditya is an emerging poet and his poems ‘Black and White’ was published in 2007. He is an ardent follower of Hinduism and is living in Mumbai at present.
The was a conflict between Uddhav and the former Shiv Sena leader Narayan Rane which led to the expulsion of Rane. Again there was a split in the Sena due to the differences between Uddhav Thackeray and his cousin Raj Thackeray. Raj Thackeray left Shiv Sena and formed his own party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena.
Uddhav is conducting campaigns from 2007 for debt relief to farmers in the Vidarbha region of Maharashtra. As a number of farmers committed suicide here, he is organizing this campaign. He is a wildlife enthusiast and photographer. Often he holds exhibition of his photographs of the forest, natural themes and historical places around the world.
He has published a book, The Maharashtra Desha which depicts the heritage of Maharashtra. This is a book of photography taken aerially. Mumbaichya Desha speaks about the life in Mumbai, Kankhar Desha is about the strongholds of Shivaji, Pavitra Desha is about the sanctity of temples, Degadanchya Desha is about caves like Ajanta, Ellora, Kanheri and Karla, Jeevan Desha is about rivers of Maharashtra and Adbhut Desha is a collection of photography related to wild life and natural resources of Maharashtra.
