Tisca Chopra Biography

Tisca Chopra is an Indian stage actress of ‘Dinner With Friends’ fame. She played the character of Dia, a failed artist with a broken marriage in this play. She debut Bollywood with Platform (1993), opposite Ajay Devgn and has also appeared in Tare zameen par and Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji. She also acted in Nandita Das's directorial debut, Firaaq (2008). Qissa with Irrfan Khan and Rahasya are her upcoming movies. Feroz Abbas Khan's Mahatma vs Gandhi, All The Best and Satyadev Dubey's Inshah Allah are her noted plays.

Tisca Chopra was born in Kasauli, Himachal Pradesh into a Punjabi family on 1 November, 1973. Her birth name is Tisca Zareen Arora and currently she resides in Mumbai. She graduated from Apeejay School, Noida, where her father was principal. While studying at Hindu College, University of Delhi she started acting in amateur plays. She also participated in college festivals and started writing as well. Once she finished her education, she moved to Mumbai where she joined the acting school run by Feroz Abbas Khan and Naseeruddin Shah and got trained under them. She also acted in a few plays of Feroz.

In 1993, she made her big screen debut with Platform. Yet she concentrated most on theater and acting. She also appeared in short films like Ek Shaam Ki Mulaquat and Hum Saath Saath Hain Kya?, followed by television serials – Kahanighargharki, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani and Love marriage. She hosted ‘Main Hoon Na’ consumer grievance show on Star News and Prayschit - Gunahon Ke Zahkm on Sony Entertainment Television. She has also hosted several corporate events and appeared in a few television ads like Tanishq, Titan Eye-wear, Dish TV, Kelloggs-All Bran and Horlicks Gold.
