Tia Bajpai Biography

Tia Bajpai is a successful Bollywood actress who has played lead in Vikram Bhatt’s commercially hit Bollywood movies like Haunted-3D and 1920: Evil Returns. She has earlier appeared in a few television serials before working in Bollywood movies. She played the role of Laxmi Garodia in the tele-serial Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (2006-2008). She has also appeared in Ssshhhh...Phir Koi Hai and participated in Lux Kaun Jeetega Bollywood Ka Ticket and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2005 as a contestant. She is a singer too. Her real name is Twinkle Bajpai.

 

Tia was a singer and a finalist on the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa before she made her debut as an actress on television. Ghar Ki Lakshmi Betiyann (2006-2008) marked her debut as an actor in television. Following the singing reality show, she signed to do an album, Suno Na, with Vikram Bhatt's company. However the album didn’t happen, but Bhatt offered her lead role in his upcoming horror thriller. Haunted-3D in 2011 marked her successful debut in Bollywood, which was dubbed to different regional languages. Haunted – 3D is India's first stereoscopic 3D horror film and was a surprise hit at box office. She played the role of Meera, tortured by an evil spirit in this movie. This film takes the audience from present to past and later to future. Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay Chakraborty played lead role in this movie.

 

After the success of her debut movie, Vikram Bhatt casted once again in the sequel of horror film 1920. The movie was titled 1920: Evil Returns and she played the role of Smruti, who falls in love with a young poet, played by Aftab Shivdasani. The movie also starred Vidya Malvade and Sharad Kelkar in supporting roles. Identity Card, Desi Kattey and Bypass are her other movies.
