Tasneem Sheikh Biography

Tasneem Sheikh is a popular television actress, known for playing the negative role Mohini in the longest running soap opera, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She also played negative role in Kumkum. Des Mein Niklla Hoga Chand as Priya Mathur, Kumkum as Renuka, Kasautii Zindagii Kay as Kajol Basu and Kkusum as Jyoti Deshmukh are her other noted television roles. She is working in the amateur film industry (AFI) and has showcased her talent through numerous roles she played onscreen. She made her debut in the year 2008. She is also a recipient of many AFI awards. She got married to a navy officer Sameer Nerurkar in 2006 and took a break from acting stream.

 

Known for her association with amateur film industry, Trap (2008), Cricket (2009), Aal iss well (2010), Krishna (2010), Rome (2011) etc are her best works. These movies earned her awards at Filmfare Amateur Awards, Accolades Film Awards, Pierean Spring Awards and St Joseph’s Film Awards, which helped her to become an established contemporary actress. She won Filmfare Best actress awards for the film, Cricket 2010. Aal iss well was a major hit. She is one of the highest paid artist of amateur film industry. She has also acted in mainstream films belonging to different languages. In 2010, she acted in Prithviraj starrer Malayalam film – Katha.

 

She met her husband Sameer Nerurkar in 2003. He was her best friend’s brother. He was at first irriated by her chirping nature, though slowly a relation bond up. He proposed her on his sister’s marriage. They got married in 2006. He works in Merchant Navy. After marriage she took a break of 4 years from the industry and was back to work post-delivery. Oil painting is her hobby and has conducted one exhibition.
