Tarun Tejpal Biography 
Tarun Tejpal is an Indian journalist, publisher and novelist, who has been recently in news with sexual harassment charge by a woman reporter on November 21, 2013. He stepped down as editor of Tehlka for six months after the accusation. The sex scandal is the hot news right now and Shoma Chaudhury, its managing editor has also resigned her post following the accusation by media as well as social networking sites for the wrong handling of the case. He is married to Geetan Batra, a trustee of Salaam Baalak Trust and currently, the family resides in New Delhi.
Tarun J Tejpal was born on March 15, 1963 in Punjab. Tejpal’s father served in Indian army and as a result, his childhood and teens were spent at several places in India. He completed his graduation from Panjab University in Chandigarh. As a journalist his career began in 1980’s working with India’s one of the leading English newspapers, The Indian Express. He joined India Today magazine in 1984, The Financial Express in 1994 and later moved to Outlook publications as well. He founded India Ink, a publishing company which published Arundhati Roy's Booker Prize winning novel The God of Small Things in 1998.
In 2000, he left Outlook and became one of the four founding members of the Tehelka magazine. its sting investigations became immensely popular and ‘Operation West End’ was one of the top cover stories. In 2010, he received Award for Excellence in Journalism by the International Press Institute's India Chapter Award. In 2001 Business Week named him as one amongst the 50 leaders at the forefront of change in Asia. His name was also listed under "India's 50 Most Powerful People 2009”. On 20 November 2013, he stepped down as editor after a woman colleague alleged that she had been sexually assaulted by him. This incident drew quick attention of public as well as social media.
