Taran Adarsh Biography

Taran Adarsh is a famous journalist and film critic known for reviewing newly released Bollywood movies. At present, he is one of the leading film critics of the country and his reviews are always listed first in the Wikipedia of newly released Bollywood films. He is also known as a film trade analyst who has also written a few screenplays and produced a few movies as well. He is the son of film director and producer, B. K. Adarsh. He regularly appears as a film critic in many television based programs and the website, Bollywood Hungama where he acts as a trade analyst as well.

 

Taran Adarsh was born on 13 June 1965 as the son of film maker, B. K. Adarsh. He is the cousin of film critic Komal Nahata. At the age of 15, he entered the world of journalism. He joined as the editor of ‘Trade Guide’, a weekly box-office magazine when he was only 15. In 1994, he wrote and produced one movie based on Bollywood - Hello Bollywood. The movie starred Shehzad Khan and Kashmira Shah in lead roles. Though he entered film industry he continued his career as a journalist in ‘Trade Guide‘ magazine. He produced and scripted one more movie – Fox (2009) which included Sunny Deol, Arjun Rampal and Udita Goswami in lead roles.

 

From 2007 onwards, he hosted a television show, B BIZ which included box office reports as well as interviews with film celebrities. This show is hosted by Bollywood trade channel ETC and telecasted on Zee TV and Bollywood Hungama as well. Now he is hosting a celebrity chat show on Music India called "Talking Cinema With Taran Adarsh" which includes box office reports, film reviews as well as film gossips.
