Tanuj Virwani Biography

Tanuj Virwani is a young actor associated with Bollywood. He made his film debut through Luv U Soniyo in 2013. He is the son of popular actress of 1980s, Rati Agnihotri of Ek Duje Ke Liye fame. He played lead roles in Luv U Soniyo (2013), Purani Jeans (2014) and the most recent One Night Stand in 2016 opposite Sunny Leone. But all these movies failed to create an impact in box office. However Tanuj has been noticed for all these films. He had a brief relationship with Akshara Hassan, daughter of legendary actor Kamal Hassan. However both the actors failed to create success at box office, though Kamal Hassan and Rati Agnihotri together gave one of the iconic films of Bollywood – Ek Duje Ke Liye. Noted actor and director Atul Agnihotri is his uncle.

He was born on November 29, 1986 in Delhi. His education was completed at Mumbai. His father Anil Virwani is a businessman and architect. Born into a filmy family, Tanuj too joined film industry. But acting was not his first choice. After doing graduation in commerce, he completed a diploma in Advertising and worked with Rediffusion for six months. He was briefly associated with theatre before he made his film debut in 2013. He also worked as an assistant director under many directors and that’s how he came close to Akshara Hassan. He made film debut opposite former Miss India Neha Hinge in 2013. The film was directed by Joe Rajan. He is currently active with his modelling career as well.

Tanuj played the role of a small town boy in his second film, Purani Jeans. Rati Agnihotri played his mother’s role in this film. After the failures of both these movies, the actor was a less disappointed. But his mother advised him to wait and choose right roles only. At the phase he also witnessed turbulent relationship of his parents, which has ended in a divorce in 2015. In 2016, he played lead role alongside Sunny Leone for the film, One Night Stand. The actor admits that he had one night stands while at college.
