T. V. Rajesh Biography

T. V. Rajesh is an MLA and active politician from Kerala. He represents the Kalyassery constituency of Kerala and was elected from Communist Party of India (Marxist). Currently he holds the position of president of the DYFI Kerala state committee, and also a state committee member of the CPI (M) and he was elected to this position on May 2013. He entered into politics as a Students' Federation of India (SFI) activist. In 2011, he was in limelight for breaking down and crying in front of media and television channels regarding his attack against woman watch and guard.

Rajesh was born on 11 January 1974 at Kalyassery, Kannur of state of Kerala. His parents are Chandukutty and Madhavi. He studied at Cherythazham high school and took graduation from Payyannur College, Kannur. During this time, he was active in politics. He completed his master degree in Law from Govt Law College, Thiruvananthapuram. His entry to politics was through SFI and later moved to DYFI and actively participated in strikes and Communist party activities. Since school days, he has been active in several political movements of students, at a time when politics was allowed in school.

 
He became SFI Cheruthazham unit secretary in 1996 and two years later, became SFI Madayi area president followed by SFI Kannur district president. He became Calicut University union counselor in 2000 and was elected as SFI Kannur district secretary the same year. He became SFI Kerala state secretary in 2002 and DYFI Kannur district president in 2006. Very soon he became DYFI Kerala state joint secretary and became DYFI Kerala state secretary in 2007. He got elected to Kerala Assembly in 2011.
