Swastika Mukherjee Biography

Swastika Mukherjee is a Bengali actress who works in Bollywood films also. She is daughter of actor Santu Mukherjee. She debut film industry with the movie, Hemanter Pakhi in 2003 where she did a supporting role. As a lead actress, her first movie was Mastan. She has been paired with Parambrata Chatterjee in numerous movies like Brake Fail, 033, Hemanter Pakhi and Basanta Utsav1. She has been paired with Prasenjit Chatterjee in movies like Tobu Bhalobasi and Criminal. She has debut Bollywood in 2010 anthology film – Mumbai cutting. She was married to the singer Pramit Sen, of Rabindra Sangeet singer exponent Sagar Sen, at the age of 18 though the marriage was short lived.

Swastika Mukherjee was born on 13 December 1980 in Kolkata as the daughter of actor Santu Mukherjee (Santu Mukhopadhyay) and Gopa. She studied from Carmel School, Kolkata, St. Teresa' School, and Gokhale Memorial School. She got married at the age of 18 though it lasted only for 2 years. She accused him of physically abusing her. Her daughter Anwesha was born in 2000. In 2001 Mukherjee enrolled at the Ananda Shankar Centre for Culture and learnt classical dance from veteran Tanushree Shankar. By this time she has joined television industry and was successful also.

She debut film industry in 2003. She has been linked with her co-star Jeet with whom she has worked in movies like Partner, Krishnakanter Will and Kranti. Jeet was her first co-star where she played the main lead. The movie was Mastan. The relationship broke up due to gossips saying that Jeet was dating Koel Mullick. While working in Brake fail, she began a relationship with Parambrata Chatterjee. Pramit Sen filed a case against Parambrata Chatterjee for criminal adultery as the divorce procedures were not completed yet. This couple too, got separated in 2010.
