Swapna Treasa Biography

Swapna Treasa is a popular actress associated with Malayalam TV scene. She hails from Thalassery of Malabar. She shot to fame after playing the mother of Malootty in the popular TV series, Malootty. The role also earned her Best serial actress award. She marked her acting career through TV series, Manthaaram, in a lead role.

 

She hails from Thalassery. Her family belongs to Irutti of Kannur district. She was born into a family with no connections to entertainment world. She was interested in watching TV serials before she got her first offer. Her father George is a businessman and mother Leelamma is a homemaker. She has three siblings. She completed her education from her hometown. After completing Plus-two, she got selected as ‘Model of the week’ by a magazine. She got noticed and received a few offers from ad world. That’s how she got her first television role, Manthaaram, where she played female protagonist. She got encouragement from family to join Television industry. After that she started receiving more roles from television.

 

She was a part of the sequel of the popular series, Jwalayai – titled Veendum Jwalayai. She played the role of an IPS officer Selin in the show. She played the female lead in Swantham Soorya Putri – the sequel of the popular series, Soorya Putri. She also appeared in Tamil serials – Vanakkam Chennai and Kasthuri, produced by Balaji telefilms, and also in one Telugu serial, Brahma Mozhi. She played tear jerking roles in most of her television serials. She took a small break from television and worked as radio jockey for a while at Dubai. She is married to Manas and the couple has one daughter. She returned to mini screen when her daughter became nine months old.
