Surabhi Biography

Surabhi is a successful south Indian actress who predominantly appears in Telugu and Tamil films. She belongs to that group of north Indian actresses who found space and popularity in south Indian film industry. Tamil movie - Ivan Veramathiri (2013) marked her film debut, and later she chose both Tamil and Telugu projects equally. Her debut movie earned her nominations at both Vijay awards and SIIMA for best debutant actress, though she couldn’t win it. Beeruva is her first Telugu movie, directed by Kanmani.

Surabhi completed graduation from College of Art, Delhi. As she was interested in doing movies, she started her career as a model. She also did a workshop at Imago Acting School, under Barry John and Manoj Bajpai. It was one modelling assignment that led her to the South. She attended the audition of IVM in Chennai and month -long rehearsals and workshop conducted for her by the director Saravanan. Ivan Veramathiri (2013) was her debut movie, where she was paired with Vikram Prabhu. She gave her first shot in one take and felt thrilled when the director Saravanan appreciated her. She played Malini, a homely sweet college girl in the movie. Ivan Veramathiri opened to positive reviews by critics and completed 100 days in theatres, thus declaring it as a hit.

Surabhi was next seen in a cameo appearance in Velraj's directorial debut Velaiyilla Pattathari (2014). She played the role of an ex-smoker and the movie was also a hit. She appeared in a song sequence for Suseenthiran's sports drama film Jeeva. Attack directed by RGV and Express Raja are her upcoming Telugu movies. Mohan Krishna Indraganti has signed her for his next project.
