Supriya Karnik Biography 
Supriya Karnik is a beautiful Bollywood actress known for portraying ‘modern mother’ type of roles. She played the role of Priyanka Chopra’s mother in Mujhse shaadi karoge. Her role as Mrs. Ghungroo in 2007 super hit comedy, ‘Welcome’ is also worth mentioning. Thus for both these movies, she has successful association with Akshay Kumar. She also played character role in Akshay Kumar starrer ‘De Dana Dan’, ‘Talaash: The Hunt Begins...’ and ‘Bewafa’. Apart from comic roles, she is known for portaying grey shaded roles in Bollywood in the recent times.
She has mostly been associated with comic type of roles. Zindagi Tere Naam, Zameer: the fire within, Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar, Yeh dil, Dhai Akshar Prem Ke, Taal, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain, Yadein, Waah! Tera Kya Kehna, Ek aur ek gyarah, Raja Hindustani and Tujhe Meri Kasam are other noted movies and in most of these movies, she portrayed the role of ‘Urban’ mother. She is one among those successful actresses of Bollywood who made late entry to films.
She entered Bollywood in the late 1990’s and appeared in movies like Main Solah Baras Ki (1998) and Taal (1999). Her character role in Govinda starrer Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain in 2000 was one of her major breaks. However her big break was David Dhawan’s mega blockbuster Mujhse Shadi Karoge, where she played Amrish Puri’s wife ad Priyanka Chopra’s mother role. Most recently in 2013, she made her Marathi debut through the movie, 'Lek Ladaki', a movie based on the relationship between a mother and daughter. She portrayed mother’s role while Priyanka Yadav, the daughter’s role.
