Sunder Ramu Biography

Sunder Ramu is a noted character artist associated with Tamil cinema, known for playing pivot role Aishwarya Dhanush's 3. He made his film debut with 2011 movie Mayakkam Enna which earned him a nomination at Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor – Tamil. Over the years Sunder has portrayed several character roles and made a distinct mark of his own. It’s attributed to his experience in theatre. Sunder has been a stage actor before his foray to films. The actor has also worked as a fashion photographer in the industry. David, Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal, Naan Sigappu Manithan and Kanithan are his released movies up-to-date. In his recent release Kanithan, he played the character role of Senthil and the movie was opened to positive reviews.

Sunder Ramu’s school education was completed at Bangalore. Later he joined NSD, Delhi. He dropped out of the course as he couldn’t follow Hindi language. Later he joined Visual Communication course at Loyola College, Chennai. In those days he got opportunity to shoot a portfolio for model Sunita Punjabi, who later became a semi-finalist at Femina Miss India. Very soon he got more assignments for fashion photography which he accepted. In the 1990s he was actively involved with stage plays and performed on stage for more than 600 shows. He has been associated with 12 different troupes for his stage plays.

Dhanush starrer Mayakkam Enna in 2011 marked his film debut. Dhanush is his friend and they wrote a few short films. Selvaraghavan took one of those short films and made it into a full-length film. Sundar made an impressive debut through this film, which bagged him a nomination at Vijay awards. He has been linked up with his co-stars for multiple times. In 2012 there were rumours that he was dating Andrea Jeremiah, which the actress denied. Prior to it, it was also reported that he was dating his Mayakkam Enna co-star Richa Gangopadhyay.
