Sundar C Biography

Sundar C is a popular film director of Tamil cinema who has directed 25 movies till now. He is better known as husband of top actress of 1990’s, Kushboo. He was born as Vinayaga Sundara Vadivel Chidambaram Pillai on 21 Jan 1968 in Erode. Initially he worked as an assistant director to Actor/Director Manivannan and his debut movie as a director was ‘Murai maaman’. In this movie released in the year 1995, he made Cameo appearance at the Panchayat Scene also.

 
He has worked with almost all leading actors of Kollywood. He directed Rajinikanth’s super hit movie, Arunachalam (1997) and Kamal Hassan and Madhavan in critically well acclaimed movie - Anbe Sivam (2003). He has debut acting career through the movie, Thalai Nagaram in 2006 followed by Veerappu, Guru sishyan, Sandai, Aayudham Seivom, Nagaram Marupakkam, Vaada, Murattu Kaalai, Perumal, Thee and Aiyantham Padai. He has also made a cameo appearance in Arunachalam as a News Reporter at the Singham Ondru Song.

He has completed 25 movies in film industry in the year 2013 with the movie, Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru. As a film director, his movies are Murai Maman, Murai Maapillai, Ullathe allithaa, Methukudi, Arunachalam, Janakiraman, Unnaei thedi, Naam Iruvar Namakku Iruvar, Suyamvaram, Unakkaga Ellam Unakkaga, Azhagarsamy, Kannan Varuvaan, Unnai Kann Theduthey, Rishi, Ullam Kollai Poguthae, Winner, Anpe sivam, Azhagana Naatkal, Giri, London, Thaka Thimi Tha, Rendu, Chinna, Nagaram Marupakkam, Kalakalappu and Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru.

 
Ullathai Allithaa, released in the year 1996 was one of the top hits of actors – Karthik and Ramba. Though a few shots were inspired from Hindi classic comedy film, Andaz apna apna, it helped to bring Ramba as a glamorous girl to limelight. Suyamvaram, released in 1999, directed by 14 directors and 30 leading actors was shot in a single day. This movie has find a position in Guinness book of world records for casting the most stars in a film and also for being the quickest ever full feature length film made, with filming being completed in 23 hours and 58 minutes.
