Sukshinder Shinda Biography

Sukshinder Shinda is a bhangra record producer, singer and lyricist from England of Indian origin. His real name is Sukshinder Singh Bhullar. He started his professional recording in the year 1993 with Dhol Beat Ek and has produced or collaborated on more than 200 albums till now. He has been associated with many Punjabi artists like Jazzy B and Amrinder Gill. Shinda released his first solo album, Phases, which featured the singles "Daroo" and "Dil" is quite popular. He has won UK Asian Music Awards many times in different categories and many of his songs are international chart toppers. Satguru Mera (2009) and most recently, Choj Khalseh De (2013) are his devotional albums. He experimented a lot with Punjabi Bhangras and gave them new dimensions.

 

He was born in Handsworth in Birmingham, England on May 29, 1972. He got admission to school two years earlier solely for his singing talents when he was just 4. Till now, music is a part of his life. His experiments include - Punjabi vernacular to cross-cultural experiments and it includes rap as well as Hindi film songs. In 1981, he won Punjab collegiate competition award for the third time and was awarded with “golden star” pendant. Later he gave same name to his musical band - The Golden Star band.

 

Among his albums, 20 were international chartbusters.  In 2006, Sukshinder Shinda won two awards at the UK Asian Music Awards, "Best Album" and "Best Video". Two years later, he repeated the magic winning UK Asian Music Awards in 2 categories - "Best Act" and "Best Album" for Living the Dream. In 2010 and 2011, he won "Best Producer". Jazzy B was launched to music world through Shinda’s musical, Ghugian da Jorra. After that he has composed all songs for Jazzy B.
