Sudha Kongara Prasad Biography 
Sudha Kongara Prasad is a film director and screenwriter, associated with south Indian films, English and Bollywood. Worked as an associate director of Mani Ratnam for seven years, she made her Bollywood debut in 2016 with the sports film - Saala Khadoos, which was released in Tamil titled Irudhi Suttru. The movie received rave reviews from critics. She started her film debut as a screenwriter for the National award winning English film ‘Mitr, My Friend’, which gave a National award for actress Shobana too. Scripted by Sudha, the movie was awarded best regional film in English at the 49th National Film Awards. Telugu film - Andhra Andagadu (2008) and Tamil Film Drohi (2010) are her other directorial ventures.
Sudha Kongara was born in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. After schooling from her hometown, she completed graduation from Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu. She comes from acclaimed director Mani Ratnam’s school of direction and apprenticed under him for seven years, working in many of his movies. In 2002, she scripted the film ‘Mitr, My Friend’, which was her real breakthrough. In 2008, she made her film debut as a director through the Telugu film - Andhra Andagadu, starring Krishna Bhagavan, Suman Setty and Kondavalasa Lakshmana Rao in lead roles. But the comedy film went unnoticed.
In 2010, she scripted and directed Tamil-language action drama film, Drohi, marking her Tamil film debut. The movie starring Srikanth and Vishnu received positive reviews from critics and gave her the big break to film making. She started writing the sports drama - Saala Khadoos in 2010 and wanted to release it as a bilingual. Impressed by its script, filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani co-produced the film. The movie also marked the successful debut of kick boxer cum mixed martial artist - Ritika Singh. Madhavan plays the male lead of a boxer coach.
