Sudha Chandran Biography

Sudha chandran is a well known Indian actress and trained classical dancer. She is an accomplished Bharatanatyam dancer. The famous film ‘Mayuri’ released in all south Indian languages is loosely based on her life. This movie was later remade as Naache Mayuri in 1986 in Hindi where Sudha played lead role again. The movie won her special jury award at National award section as well. She played lead role in this movie as well. The film narrates the journey of a dancer who losses her leg in an accident. Sudha lost her leg in an accident in May 1981 in Tamil Nadu and she turned an actress after that. She is a successful television actress and reality show judge also.

Sudha was born in Irinjalakuda, Kerala on 21 September 1964. She completed her degree from Mithibai college, Mumbai and M.A in Economics. An accident that happened in 1981 changed her life completely. Due to fault by doctors, she lost her right leg. As she was a professional dancer, it was the worst period of her life. Later she bought Jaipur foot and fought against destiny, thus becoming a successful dancer. Her real life story is really an inspiring one for many people to follow. As an actress, she has worked in many movies. Later she became more successful as a television actress, successful anchor and judge of reality shows.

 
She worked in Doordarshan serials like Chandrakantha, Bahuraniyan, Kashmakash zindagi ke, Hamari bahu tulsi, Antaraal and Jaane bhi do paro. Other noted works include – Chashma baddoor, Tumhari disha and kaise kahoom of Zee TV, Kuch is tarah, Adalat of Sony TV, Kyonki saas bhi kabhi bahu thi of Star plus and Jhilmil sitarom ka aangan hoga of Sahara one. She has also worked in Tamil serials like Thendral, Saundaryavalli, Daivam thantha veedu and Jaiyam. She has played supporting roles in Bollywood hits like Hum aapke dil mein rehte hain, Malamal weekly and Anjaam.
