Subbu Panchu Arunachalam Biography

Subbu Panchu Arunachalam is a south Indian film actor and producer, who concentrates on Tamil film industry. He is the son of Panchu Arunachalam, noted writer-producer. He started his career as a child actor for 1987 Malayalam film Daisy. He has also worked as a choreographer and a voice actor. Apart from appearing in numerous ads, he is also a TV host who currently hosts a game show "Aayirathil Oruvan" in Zee Tamil channel. Though played many character roles onscreen 2010 comedy film Boss Engira Bhaskaran is his memorable role up-to-date.

 

Subbu Panchu Arunachalam, also credited as Subbu Panchu or P. Ar. Subramaniam, was born in a filmy family. He was born as the son of Panchu Arunachalam in 1971 in Rayavaram, Pudukkottai. Noted film maker and actor, Pratap Pothen happened to be his neighbour and when he made a Malayalam film ‘Daisy’ where Kamal Hassan played a cameo role, Subbu received his first role as a child artist at the age of 8. Subbu later worked as an assistant director under his father for Rajinikanth-starrer Guru Sishyan. Since then he is associated with Collywood doing various tasks from production executive to film actor and dubbing artist.

 

After involving with movies behind camera for a decade, he faced camera for the first time in a credited role for the movie - Kadhal Samrajyam in 2002, directed by Agathiyan. He played lead role for the movie. However Subbu gained attention doing supporting roles and also did a few television serials. Boss Engira Bhaskaran is his most memorable role on big screen. He played negative shaded roles also. As a dubbing artist, he dubbed for Suman in Sivaji: The Boss and Mukesh Tiwari and Kandaswamy.
